Interior Photography
Projects including schools, universities, hospitals, corporate offices, restaurants, hotels, retail showrooms, and private residences. Clients have included Knoll, Philpotts & Assocs, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Coach, Halekulani Hotel, Hilton Int’l, Marriott Hotel, WWATG, The Contemporary Museum(now Honolulu Museum of Art Spaulding House) and Kapiolani Hospital Foundation. Numerous projects have appeared in interior design publications.
Editorial Photography
Worked with Sunset Magazine (prior to purchase by Time Inc) doing travel photography for about 8 years. Calendars and brochures for the Dept of Land and Natural Resources and The Hawaii Heritage foundation. Books include The Art of Mauna Kea and The View from Diamond Head and many other books to which Franzen has been a contributor. Major photography projects have been done for The Bishop Museum, Doris Duke Charitable Foundation for Islamic Art, The Lyman Museum, and The Mission Houses Museum
Corporate Photography
Projects photographing personnel and operations for corporate Annual Reports, company brochures, hotel brochures, and PR/editorial purposes. A few clients: The Estate of James Campbell, Phillip Morris Corp, Matson navigation Co, Alexander & Baldwin, Fletcher Pacific Construction, Grace Pacific, and Kapiolani, Straub, Wilcox, and Pali Momi hospitals.
HABS/HAER/HALS Documentation
HABS/HAER/HALS documentary photography projects for military clients have included extensive work at Pearl Harbor Navy Base, Hickam AFB, Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Wheeler AAF, Schofield Barracks, Midway Island, Lualualei and West Loch Naval Magazines, and Wake Island. In addition many projects photographing historic properties, bridges, sugar mills, and the Haleakala Highway within the National Park.
